As the Seafish funded Training Advisory Committee for the seafood industry within Greater London, our remit has two clear goals. Firstly, to organise effective training to raise quality and standards within the seafood industry. Secondly, to actively work towards, the promotion of fish and the Fish Industry.
We also run courses for the general public who are interested in learning more about fish. Our training courses include basic food hygiene certificates, health and safety certificates, knife skills training, quality assessment of seafood, computer training, HACCP workshops, fishmonger development, City & Guilds Certificates from Billingsgate Seafood Training School, NVQ's for frying, retail and processing, emergency first aid, emergency fire fighting, introduction to fish and fish processing, introduction to fish frying and practical fish smoking and curing.
We can help access and deliver training courses for fishmongers, fish friers, fish processors, fish merchants and fish handlers. Our training solutions are also relevant to all those who are indirectly involved in the london fish industry working for caterers, restaurants and hotels. We focus on the following areas of training: basic food hygiene certificates, health and safety certificates, knife skills training, quality assessment of fish and shellfish, computer training, HACCP workshops, fishmonger development, NVQ's for frying, retail and processing, emergency first aid, emergency fire fighting, introduction to fish and fish processing, introduction to fish frying and practical fish smoking and curing.
